March Madness
Just because I haven't made a post for a while, doesn't mean I haven't been hard at work. What it means is that I have been REALLY working hard on projects that have taken me away from keeping up on my website. I have lost track of the weeks but have made 4 quilt tops since my last post. I cannot post pictures of most of them since one is for Hancock's of Paducah for the April show in Paducah, Kentucky (look for the Christmas Courtyard quilt in my Winter Song prints if you are going to the show or on-line as a quilt kit from Hancock's of Paducah.)
Another two quilts, also done in my Winter Song prints, are going into the Quilter's Newsletter "Best Christmas Quilts" issue out on the newsstands in August of this year. That is super exciting! One quilt called "Holiday Dishes" and is ideal for a table topper or throw. The other quilt is an album quilt called "Home Circle" and is a done in just reds and cream.
Here is a little peak at a centerpiece quilt top that I have created for Fabri-Quilt. This quilt will be offered as a quilt kit at Quilt Market in May. The table centerpiece could be turned into a tree skirt as well. This quilt is an octagon shaped piece and is stunning in the reds and greens of the Winter Song prints.
Besides all the sewing I have done I have tried to find time to work on a new collection for the fall Quilt Market. Designs are starting to take shape and I feel like I may just make my end of April goal of having the collection complete. I don't even have a name for it yet, it is sort of like getting a new puppy and testing names out on it for a week or so. My last dog, Ruby, I think it took about 6 weeks to name her, the poor thing, still will come to about anything you call her.
So, there is my good excuse for not making any posts. Sorry about putting you last, but something's got to give!
The new, spring issue of Fabric Trends for Quilter is out and I am one of the designers profiled in this issue! Also in this issue is a quilt designed by Wendy Sheppard using my Love Grows fabrics.
My Love Grows fabrics are like spring after winter. For me it really is after working with winter prints in my Winter Song collection for the last few weeks. I will be sewing up a quilt top using my Love Grows fabrics next and although I love my Winter Song collection, I am feeling more spring like everyday it gets warmer out side. I cannot help but want to change my materials to match the season.
I hope to be better at getting posts up every week or so, but I cannot make any promises. Just know that I am hard at work and designing like crazy!
